At 44 minutes, I stopped filming just before the end of Season 2.
Well, even though it is not a complete playthrough, I think it really highlights just how great team co-op is going to be. I had a ton of fun shooting this. You may not have a ton of fun watching it!

Coming together!
Backer-Designed Tile Ideas and Voting
There is a forum post up at BoardGameGeek for hearing your design proposals for our backer bonus tile (see Update #23) that will be added to the game at $180,000. The tile can be a fun, overpowered promo-style tile or a serious tile that fits right into the game. I will entertain all serious proposals and develop prototypes, and YOU will decide what gets added to Obsession. I do not anticipate vetoing too many ideas, but I will defend the theme at all costs.
Please provide the appropriate details. I won't be able to do much with "A distillery!"
The Teffy 25
Cued up at #1 (the whole thing is good)!
Hybrid Tile Design
Thanks to Bill Buchanan for being tenacious about the Hybrid Tiles needing an indicator of what is on the reverse side (see Update #3). After some back-and-forth in a BGG post, here are two of your new Hybrid Tile:
The background behind the servant indicates what's available on the reverse side. While you can always lift and flip the tile, you'll NEVER forget you have a powerful hybrid in your organiser.
Six Players?!
The capability for six players will be theoretically possible once we hit $180,000, but will it be fun? That is a lot of down time even with experienced players.
This sparked an inspiration. Teams! For those of you who haven't played Cooperative Obsession, you don't know what you're missing! The bad accents, drama, and gossip go from being a solo act to an ensemble. More importantly, the thematic sharing of servants and guests creates a whole new level of interaction.
I believe the best way for six players to play would be three teams of two, with your teammate being able to attend your activities, loan servants and pounds, and otherwise make things happen that would otherwise be impossible. But by scoring the lowest estate, teammates must ensure both houses prosper.
Here's the rub: I've just described (and tried already!) a whole new style of play—competitive co-op—and the rules will not make it into the box. The components will be there, but the rules (which will need playtesting) will follow after the game is on your shelf.
Are you OK with PDF rules for 6 Player Competitive Co-op Obsession?
Video Plan
I am aiming for two videos before the campaign concludes:
Cooperative play
The 6 player team play concept I am developing (which could also be played at 4).
My goal will be to get these out over the weekend.
Thanks!

Stretch Goal #9

Eight revenue stretch goals down and one to go!
My Dad used to save the purple Crown Royal Seagram's bags when I was little. When one day he soberly let me have one to hold army men, I was over the moon! (Can you tell we are Irish?) He and a group of poker-playing buddies used those Crown Royal bags to hold their change, which gave them the name Purple Gang for their monthly get-togethers. That bag sits in a place of honor in my armamentarium of game accessories over my right should as I type this.
RESPECT THIS STRETCH GOAL! :)
Even though Benjamin Clovis (aka Wimbledon Purple) was the one who inspired the 1st Obsession campaign to embrace this lovely color...
...I instantly knew it was right. Now, I know we have a nice storage system...
...but there is a lot of room in those large boxes for stuff to rattle around. Enter bag purple bag. She can hold coins, meeples, cards, tiles...anything.
Here's the only question: Do we keep her purple?

Stretch Goal #8

I really didn't want to be that developer with endless Updates. Sorry! When the campaign comes to an end, I promise that I'll be much more efficient. But now? You just keep hitting stretch goals, so here's another.
All the Promo Cards Are Yours!
You'll meet the winner of the promo voting tomorrow morning (Lady Mary Shelton), but you have outstretched my Diary, so here they are: your promos in all their glory!
They can be viewed in detail in the BGG archive here.
Now we need new stretch goals! A couple notes: the last stretch goal has significant cost, so the goal is higher than you might expect. But the sprint to the end is coming, and we'll make that number! Also, heading out the door for a birthday dinner, so if you spot an error below...let me know (I rushed). I will update the KS page with these stretch goals tonight.

More Backer Fingerprints!

The backers are at it again being smarter than the developer about his own game.
Meet the New Margaret Fairchild
Several backers from Obsession Torch and Pitchfork persuaded yours truly to abandon the constraints of the 1st glossary backstory and locate a more refined photo of the beloved Margaret Fairchild.
Please assemble outside my house at midnight and let me know if this does the trick!
Updated Player Aid
I had two requests for a darker font in the PASS section of the player-mat aid created by Peter Lazzaro (middle left). Peter was happy to accommodate this request, which is here. Thanks, Peter!
Later today, I will be adding this link in the body of the Kickstarter page at the end of the Upstairs, Downstairs section.
Tuckbox Option
How's this for a user-designed tuckbox?
I raised the idea of tuckboxes when we were discussing the storage system. It was inherently limited because of the variability of sleeves. Rick Mann, a gamer who creates his own tuckboxes and sleeves his cards, contacted me about his technique of making custom tuckboxes (!! holy leaping underbutlers, those are gorgeous) and provides a PDF here that should accommodate most sleeve sizes for our Gentry Cards.
I've provided him with artwork and some cards to work with (he's not an owner of the game yet), so I think we might see some stellar designs coming from Rick. Those of you who are handier than I am, I would encourage you to work with the template and see what you can produce. Rick uses 110 lb (approx 200gsm) paper and an inexpensive Brother MFC-290C all-in-one printer. Thank you, Rick!
